Osagie Clement has a diverse background in finance and leadership, with over 24 years of experience in financial economics and investment management. Most recently, he has been the Managing Director of The Lion King Capital Limited since January 2025 in Abuja, FCT, Nigeria. Under his leadership, The Lion King Capital is establishing a strong presence in the financial services and investment industry, focusing on innovative solutions and strategic growth.

Before his appointment as the Managing Director, he built an extensive career in financial policy, foreign exchange management, and public sector consulting. As a Principal Economist, Research and Development Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from January 2024 to December 2024, he supervised the development of economic policy reports for management consideration and approval, contributing to key monetary and financial strategies.

Before then, he was the Principal Manager/Head Foreign Exchange Dealing Office – CBN Dealing Room Treasury (2015 -2023) where he played a critical role in managing currency operations, overseeing  transactions in foreign exchange interventions, investment placement, and determination of foreign exchange and discount rate for CBN and FGN discounted securities, as well as, monitoring the market to  ensure compliance of banks and non banks financial institutions.

His expertise extends to public sector financial advisory, having worked as a Principal Consultant in Public Sector Consulting at Emeka Ene & Co. (Chartered Accountants). In this role, he advised government institutions on financial management, regulatory compliance, and policy implementation, reinforcing his deep understanding of fiscal governance and economic strategy.

Clement also has an impressive academic background. He holds a  Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) in Economics from Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja, and a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, and Investment Management from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom.

In addition to his formal education, Clement has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria since JUNE 2008 which widens his network and complements his technical and analytical skills in finance and business management.

With a robust background in central banking, financial markets, public sector consulting, and the educational qualifications to back it up, Clement brings a wealth of experience to his leadership at The Lion King Capital, driving strategic financial innovation and sustainable growth.
